Vacation 2010

VACATION 2010
We left on vacation on July 27th and returned very early in the morning....right after midnight....on August 19th.
We had an absolute wonderful time. We spent the first night just outside of Clarksville, TN.......next few days spent in Greenfield, WI at my sister & brother in laws place. Then headed up to Hayward. Stayed a week there, in an RV at our friends, Cece & Bills. During that week, we had a whirl wind of engagements. Saw numerous friends, and lots of family. Such a great time! Left there on the 7th of Aug. and started the downward trip. Spent two nights with our son in Cameron,WI. Then back to Milwaukee with another son, and some family gatherings. Attended the WI State Fair. Left there and went to Greendale, WI to stay with another friend, and also attend some of the events of Chuck's class reunion, which was held during "Village Days" festivities. We left Wisconsin on Aug. 16th. Made a stop of two nights with friends, close to Portland, TN. We made out trip home on the 19th of Aug. It was two years since we made that trip to Wisconsin. I really didn't know how much I missed the northland. It was hot, but sooooo beautiful. The waters that I swam in were, cool, clear, and clean. The air had a crispness that you don't have in the south. Hopefully, we'll go back again next year.

This past weekend, April 9th and 10th, was TOPS SRD (State Recognition Day), at Lakeland, FL. The group in the picture are the ladies from my TOPS Chapter that went. I was one of the graduates that went from a TOP to a KOP in quite the ceremony. Had to wear "all white". Not my favorite color for a larger lady. LOL! Received a white mortar board with a gold tassel and charm "2010". Plus a white rose and even a Diploma!

My Weavers meeting was yesterday. A very nice gathering of some very talented ladies. Mostly weavers, of course. I'm a "spinner", but do know how to weave. Just don't like it as much as I enjoy spinning. I belong to this group, as I cannot find just a group for spinners. I also want to stay connected with the "fiber" world. Back in Hayward, WI, we had a wonderful group. "Warped & Wooly Wheely Great Spinners". I miss them terribly. This group will , though not basically spinners, keep me motivated in fibers.
The tam and scarf on the left, are hand spun and crocheted. The Angora fiber is from my very own rabbits, that I use to raise. The tam is Blue Angora, the Scarf is Chocolate Angora. Natural colors not dyed.
